FRIENDS OF LINDEN PLACE will continue its 2008 concert series & celebrate Linden Place Museum’s opening for the season with a concert performance titled “A Tribute to the American Songwriter”, at 7:30 PM on Friday, May 9th in the Ballroom of Linden Place, 500 Hope Street, Bristol.
Michael DiMucci will perform a selection of classic songs, including jazz standards, Broadway show tunes and contemporary favorites popularized by singers such as Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble. Accompanied by his friends Diane Gualtieri on keyboards, Karen Mellor on percussion, and Dick Parent on horns, Michael puts new spins on old songs by songwriting greats Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Sammy Cahn, Jimmy van Heusen and others.
A wine reception to greet the artists will follow the performance. Entrance to the Ballroom is on Wardwell Street and admission is free for Colt Circle members, $15.00 for the general public and $10.00 for members of Linden Place and students with a valid ID.
This concert officially kicks-off the opening of Linden Place Museum for the 2008 season. The 1810 Federal style mansion will be open for tours of the estate Thursdays through Saturdays, 10am to 4pm and Sundays from 12pm to 4pm through Columbus Day.
